
Salma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek , born September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her film career began in Mexico, where she starred in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which was a huge success and earned her an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were only a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also co-produced she became the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6Additionally, she was awarded the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek starred in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in the following years , and shifted her focus to producing.
