Niykee is still writing songs despite having been swept up in the current chaos. Her selection was made for the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and he accompanied her on stage. At present, she is a magnet to aspiring artists, she is constantly looking over beats that are sent to her and finds that many are able to spark song ideas. She says that she can discern if a beat is a good one in less than 5 minutes. Then, a new song will pop into her mind. I sit on my backyard with my guitar and lyrics are just a matter of time and typically it's completed in less than 30 minutes. Niykee keeps working on her abilities as a poet and lyrics writer. She explains how the pain she experienced through the years is a constant sources of inspiration. Even when she's not composing about events that were actually taking place every ache due to her childhood and the grief over the loss of her daughter makes its way into music. This influences my music and builds this deeper meaning under everything which is an important thing to me--I need to know that I'll be able to hear any of my songs in 20 years later and be happy with what I had to say.
